Faulkner's Pumpkin Farm

Today, we went with friends to Faulkner's Pumpkin Farm. I was tired and still worn out from our trip to Carthage, but we still had fun. We saw lots of animals when we got there!

A buffalo...

A donkey...
A llama and some sheep...There were also some fuzzy bunnies! Some kids were feeding the animals, but I decided to take a little nibble on the feed myself. Much to Mom's dismay, I didn't spit it out, but I didn't go back for more either. I guess you could say I'm indifferent when it comes to farm feed.

After feeding the animals, it was time to play outside and pick pumpkins.
Mom was so sad when she took this picture... she took a picture of me on this horse last October and I was just pulling up on it - not even walking yet! Time flies!
My friend Joelle and I hanging out on the 'cool bus'!

Happy Birthday Great Henry!

On Sunday, we celebrated Great Henry's birthday with lots of our family. We even got a suprise visit from Mom's cousin Debbie and her new baby Peyton. Peyton just a little bit younger than Meekin and I bet they'll have lots of fun together when they get bigger. Great Henry and Great Niecy sure love all their babies.
Uncle Jon spent some time teaching me about the pods that came off of a magnolia tree. My cousin Gannon and his dad were ready to take pictures and I just wanted to play!
Aunt Jacque and her girls spent some time loving on Meekin.

We had a good week in Carthage, but I was ready to come home and see my daddy!

42nd Annual Maple Leaf Parade

Fall is Mom's favorite time of the year and she loves the Maple Leaf Parade! I have been to several parades now and really have a lot of fun!
Early the morning of the parade, we walked to Great Momma Lessie's new house, just a couple blocks from PoPo's and right on the parade route! It was a cool morning and very pretty - perfect for the parade!
The moon was still out!
With 2 hours to wait before the parade, there was plenty of time to organize our seating and have a little snack!
A police car and fire chief always signal the beginning of the parade - so exciting!
Allison, Colson, Jane and Colson's Grammy joined us!
The Carthage Tiger Marching Band! Go Big Blue! I liked watching the bands as they all marched by!
We saw lots of horses, including one being ridden by our friend Norman. The first of MANY tractors! You know I loved that part!
Our friend Michelle and I had lots of fun. She's going to be a really good grandma someday! I think I'll adopt her as another one of my grandparents until she has her own!
Colson's Grammy brought YUMMY cinnamon rolls, so I had to take a breakfast break with PoPo.

The Marching Cobras ROCK! They dance so hard and fast, it's a wonder their legs don't fall off. They stopped right in front of us and took a little breather...some of them even sat down on the street. When they did, I made sure to tell Aunt Jan, ' They're Tired!'

I like that people throw candy during parades, but somehow my candy always seems to disappear. It seems to me that Mom might be giving it to other kids. She thought it was pretty funny that Colson was piling up and eating lots of candy!

Aunt Jan, Megan and I watching the antics of all the crazy Shriners. They had 3 wheelers, little boats, trains and crazy cars!

I was so tired at the end of the parade, I fell asleep on the way to have lunch with our family. We had so much fun! I'm looking forward to next year and thinking maybe then Meekin won't sleep through the whole thing!

Family Time

While in Carthage, I got to spend time with PoPo on the motorcycle. I hear ape hangers are illegal in some states. Even regular handle bars seem a little high when you're a little guy!
Some good quality time bouncing on Uncle Bren.
A family photo opportunity.
Even though I was supposed to be winding down before bed, PoPo decided he'd do his age old kid flip trick with me. Now this is not a trick for amateurs - it's an intricate process you have to focus! First you lay on the floor and give the master flipper your ankles and wrists.
The master flipper then swings you a few times down low and then...
YAHOOOOOOO!!!!! You're a parrot on the master flippers shoulder!!
When it's time for the dismount, you have to pay very close attention. Voila! What a team!

Fredrickson's Pumpkin Patch

Last week, Mom, Meekin and I took a little trip to Carthage. It was Maple Leaf week and we wanted to spend a little extra time with our friends and family.
We met Allison, Colson and Jane at Pizza by Stout for a very yummy lunch. Colson and I are two peas in a pod, so we had a good time playing and eating! After lunch, we went to Fredrickson's Pumpkin Patch and ran through the fields. We were both tired and the moms said we really needed a nap, but it didn't happen!

We didn't go on a hay ride, but we did climb on the wagon and jump off!
I've decided I'm not big on looking at the camera these days, so Mom is particularly proud of these two pictures, since she actually got me to look at her!

Happy fall, ya'll!

A Budding Artist

Fall is upon us, so it's time to start going to Toddler Town again! Last year I didn't quite have the attention span to participate in any craft making activities, but this year, I'm all over it. Last week, we made a '5 Little Speckled Frogs' picture to sing along with the Speckled Frog song.
Mom also decided to paint the top of my desk that's in the office with chalkboard paint. She presented it to me with a love note, which I quickly marked through. My artwork is so much better than hers!

I also had my first sleepover last night at Gram and Pappy's...we slept (we'll use the term slept loosely) in the camper and had a good time!

Why Humans Don't Eat Their Young...

I'll admit, there's times when I've considered eating my young. When my children keep me up for nights on end... give me a defiant look and state in a very strong 2 year old manner, 'NO'... are excessively needy for extended periods of time... when they break a cup from a very expensive antique dish set in a store and I get the pleasure of bringing that set of dishes home... when the big one pokes the little one in the eye... those are the times when I think about it. But then, they finally go to sleep and they're so sweet and peaceful...it's during those quiet times, that I remember why humans don't eat their young. Though, if I did eat them, I'd have a very nice set of dishes to eat them off of...short one cup, of course.
