42nd Annual Maple Leaf Parade

Fall is Mom's favorite time of the year and she loves the Maple Leaf Parade! I have been to several parades now and really have a lot of fun!
Early the morning of the parade, we walked to Great Momma Lessie's new house, just a couple blocks from PoPo's and right on the parade route! It was a cool morning and very pretty - perfect for the parade!
The moon was still out!
With 2 hours to wait before the parade, there was plenty of time to organize our seating and have a little snack!
A police car and fire chief always signal the beginning of the parade - so exciting!
Allison, Colson, Jane and Colson's Grammy joined us!
The Carthage Tiger Marching Band! Go Big Blue! I liked watching the bands as they all marched by!
We saw lots of horses, including one being ridden by our friend Norman. The first of MANY tractors! You know I loved that part!
Our friend Michelle and I had lots of fun. She's going to be a really good grandma someday! I think I'll adopt her as another one of my grandparents until she has her own!
Colson's Grammy brought YUMMY cinnamon rolls, so I had to take a breakfast break with PoPo.

The Marching Cobras ROCK! They dance so hard and fast, it's a wonder their legs don't fall off. They stopped right in front of us and took a little breather...some of them even sat down on the street. When they did, I made sure to tell Aunt Jan, ' They're Tired!'

I like that people throw candy during parades, but somehow my candy always seems to disappear. It seems to me that Mom might be giving it to other kids. She thought it was pretty funny that Colson was piling up and eating lots of candy!

Aunt Jan, Megan and I watching the antics of all the crazy Shriners. They had 3 wheelers, little boats, trains and crazy cars!

I was so tired at the end of the parade, I fell asleep on the way to have lunch with our family. We had so much fun! I'm looking forward to next year and thinking maybe then Meekin won't sleep through the whole thing!
