Pomme de Terre Dam Site Park

We ended our time at Pomme last week with a visit to the Dam.  A little fishing, a little rock climbing and a little playground time. 

Meekin decided he was going to be a model and wanted his picture taken on every rock there.  It took some time, but I think we accomplished his goal.  We'll share just a couple!

Ski Bobbing Season!

Ski Bobbing season has finally arrived!  The lake isn't warm, but warm enough!  Po Po visited for a day and we decided we were World Champion Ski Bobbers! 

Dad and I hit the ski bob and did great too!!

Dad and Meekin were doing really well until they hit a wave just right!  They got nailed with a face full of water, but they did really good maintaining balance! 

Even after a face full of water, it was a happy time! 

Hard Workers

Going to the lake isn't all fun and games but we sure do make fun out of the work that is to be done!  Meeks and I, along with Gram, decided to revamp an old fire pit.  We used a pick axe to dig up nice big rocks and chained them to the back of the riding lawn mower.  Then, we dragged them across the yard to the fire pit where we replaced some old concrete blocks with the nice rocks.  Chaining, dragging, it was all a lot of work, but it sure looked good when we were finished with it!

Meekin got to be a pretty good mower driver too! 

Loving the Lake

Meekin and I love to help Daddy drive the boat!  Pretty much anything that involves going to the lake makes us happy!

Meekin got some wild windy hair last week at the lake while helping Daddy drive!

We took a little road trip over to Bennett Springs State Park and took time to wade in the Niangua River.  Of course, a little wade took a wrong turn on a moss covered boat ramp.  Don't you know it was the one time that Mom didn't bring a change of clothes?! 

Will It Fly?

A recent trip to Cracker Barrell produced a balsa wood airplane from the gift shop.  Dad put it together and the excitement of waiting was just about more than we could take!

Not much success but we had fun watching him try! 

Vaile Mansion Strawberry Festival

A recent Saturday brought us to the Vaile Mansion Strawberry Festival to browse, eat, look at cool cars and take a ride in a horse drawn carriage.

Teamwork!

On a recent shopping trip to Hobby Lobby, Meekin and I decided to be helpful to Mom by carrying her goodies to the car.  A roll of table covering and a bag?  No problem!

Stories from Destin

I loved to feed the ducks and the fish in the canal off of our deck.  Several days, we fed a momma and her 7 baby ducklings.  Most days, we just fed all of the fish and watched heron.  One day we saw a crab in the canal too!

What's this?  Just a picture of a picture that was in the condo.  No big deal right?  Why take a picture?  Because there's a story behind it! 

One afternoon, Mom and Dad left for a date and we all went for a walk and Meekin got sick.  Fortunately Mom and Dad came home shortly after and we could all take care of him.  He and Mom were sitting in a chair snuggling when he asked what kind of pretty plants were in the picture on the wall.  Mom told him 'tulips' and he quickly replied, 'No, there's THREE lips there!'  What a funny kiddo!

A Ride on the Sea Blaster

Daddy decided he could only take so much relaxing on the beach, he needed some action!  He booked a trip on the SEA BLASTER! 

We left from the Harbor and who'd have thought!?  We saw Nanny, who opted to wander shops instead of ride with us, on the balcony! 

Not even out of the harbor yet and we started seeing dolphins!  You know Mom couldn't put her camera down!  Especially since there were several sets of mommas and babies.

We spent plenty of time in the pool on vacation too.  We love the water!

Destin Outings

Bass Pro must have a theory...If you build it, they will come!  Well, it doesn't matter that we have a Bass Pro 5 minutes from our house, when we see another, we have to stop!  We love Bass Pro and we love to check out all of the boats!  Here I am, standing in between 2 boat motors priced at $60,000 each.  That doesn't even include the boat.  Holy moly!  I sure don't have that much money in my wallet!

We had supper one night at Bubba Gump Shrimp Co.  Tasty stuff!  Here's Daddy wearing Forrest's shoes. 

Meeks and I wouldn't wear the shoes, but we sat on the bench. 

Another night we went to Fudpuckers.  Yummy and we got to write our names on the furniture! 

After eating, we saw the gators!
