San Antonio Missions

We visited three of the five San Antonio Missions during our trip.  The Alamo, of course, Conception and San Jose.  Mom's camera died while we were at Conception and I'm guessing she said a few things that weren't very Mission friendly...  Here are a few of the pictures she did manage to take.

The Parks Are Bigger In Texas!

We took a break from the sights to visit a local county park.  When they say everything's bigger in Texas, they mean it!  This park was huge and had all kinds of fun things we'd never seen. 

Of course, the slides were top priority!

Rock climbing proved to be a little more challenging than I thought it would be.

Welcome to San Antonio!

After hanging out with Gram and Pappy, we headed south for San Antonio.  We had a little bit of daylight left, so we jumped on a trolley for a little sightseeing tour. 

 Mom was sick the next day, so we stayed around the hotel and swam in the pool.  When she was better, Gram and Pappy came to town to see the sights!  Gram and Mom loved the Emily Morgan Hotel.  They thought it was beautiful!

 Welcome to the Alamo!  Mom said that it wasn't nearly as intimidating as she expected it to be, but still a beautiful building, filled with history.  I liked all the sidewalks that I could run around on!

 Daddy and Pappy watched a movie in the Alamo while we ran and played.  We even found a cannon to sit on!

 The famous Riverwalk.  We took a boat ride on it.  I liked it, but Meekin decided to take a nap.

 This is the Tower of the Americas.  Mom and Daddy went there while Gram and Pappy stayed with us.  It's way up there!

Canyon Lake, Texas

We took a family trip to Texas last week in an effort to warm up a little and get out of the snow!

When we reached the north border of Texas, it was still pretty chilly and I wondered, 'When are we going to get to the REAL Texas?  The one that's warm?'

 After a stayover at a great hotel with a swimming pool, we made it to Canyon Lake, where Gram and Pappy were staying in their camper.  They were next to the lake and there were tons of deer!  They wouldn't quite eat out of your hand, but almost!

 We took Maddy for a walk and skipped rocks on the lake.

 After staying with Gram and Pappy, we fed the deer out the window while we ate breakfast!

Henry's First Snow Day

We got about 5 inches of snow today, which resulted in my first snow day from school.  Meekin and I stayed in, stayed warm and had a great day!





Christmas Number Two

The day after Christmas we headed to PoPo's house for Christmas with Mom's side of the family.  Daddy got a new welding helmet and thought he was pretty fancy.

 Funny note from Mom:  Bill is an actor on 'The Wizards of Waverly Place' and we were watching it on tv while Bill was taking a nap. Henry was very confused as to how he could be in the bedroom and on tv at the same time.

Christmas Day!

We had a wonderful Christmas with our family, even though Mom says we're a little over indulged!  We were on the receiving end of many fun treats and treasures - especially since Megan (i.e. Aunt Jan) had my name!  Can you say treasures galore?

We got to open a few on Christmas Eve after Mass and Meekin got to go first.  I was so excited!

 When the rest of the family arrived, Jason was the first to open a gift - a very special gift from Auntie Allison's dogs (aka the screwballs) and Meekin and I.

 Meekin got a new monkey!  A fur real that he was unsure of at first, but decided he liked.  Gram was more than a little jealous.  She's thinking about having the monkey come visit her, just like we do.

 When a little boy has such an exciting day, eventually he runs out of steam!
