Seriously...

Why on earth (ok, and also how on earth!?) do people have a lot of kids? No offense Grandma Johns, Sarah, Tiffany and the rest of you, but I think I was really only cut out to have 2. Maybe not even that. Today is one of those days when I question of I can really handle what God's given me. Ok, I can and do handle it, but sometimes I feel like it's not handled very gracefully. Today, I have 3 sick boys - 2 little ones and a big one. This is what this afternoon looked like. Meekin was in the carrier, but Henry wanted to be in the carrier when he woke up and looked like death warmed over. So we switched and Meekin was happy for a few minutes but was then screaming that he wanted to be held, so I had both. Then there was, 'Mommy, he's touching me!!' over and over and over. Geez, I thought we'd save those conversations for the car and maybe in a few years. I'm thrilled to go ahead and listen to it now. At least when it starts in the car, I'll have plenty of practice.

Meekin really enjoys looking at his handsome self in the mirror and being with his 'twin'. When Aunt Jan and Meg were here last week, Aunt Jan taught him fish lips, so he was practicing.

Hanging out at Home

Since the weather's been so crazy for the past couple of weeks, we've been spending a lot of time just hanging out at home. Meekin's also been sick, so we've been staying in taking care of him.
Mom and her yogurt shake pictures. She says that I crack her up and I just don't understand it. What I do know is that I love her yogurt shakes, so I put up with her flashing the camera at me all the time.
While staying in, we've been decorating for Easter. We'll be having a big family gathering next week, so the house is getting fancy! Meekin likes to help out!

Mom has gone to great lengths trying to catch Meekin's 2 teeth on film, but hasn't been very successful. If you look really close, you can see one of them in this picture!

Poor baby Meekin...his first high chair pass out. He just didn't feel good!

I'm still working at being able to feed Meekin. I tried the pump on my tummy but nothing happened. (Note from Mom: we seem to have an awful lot of underwear pictures...the positive thing is, potty training seems to be complete!) We've been doing a few upgrades on the house too...pretty new doors on closets make Mom happy! I've been helping Dad out a lot.

Thank goodness I have my own set of tools, though I really like using Daddy's.
It's sooo cold outside! We got lots of snow this weekend and modeled our new hats for Mom.
Meekin thinks I look like a dragon that needs to be slayed. He's attacking me!

Today, neither of us are feeling well, so we've been chilling on the couch. I decided to get dressed and picked out my clothes. Don't I look sharp?!

Do I Look Cool?

That's been Dad's big question lately. We had a couple of great summer-like days so he took the top off the Jeep and went for a ride! Even Pappy took part in the looking cool activities!

Meekin wanted to look cool too, but he didn't get to go for a ride in the Jeep - just in his walker around the driveway!

Jabber Jaws

Last week, we went for Meekin's 6 month well check. Dr. Rogers asked Mom if she was still breastfeeding (I call it Mom's special milk) and when she told him yes, he told her, 'it looks like it's going well!' Meekin's a big boy, though right at the 50th percentile, so apparently not as big as we think he is sometimes. He's finally started eating his toes. This comes a little later than when I started eating my toes, but he's got a bit more body to get around! It seems that Meekin talks almost as much as I do, which means there's not much silence in our house! He started saying dada a couple of days ago, much to Mom's dismay. Sometimes, he babbles and screeches like a bird. I get such a kick out of that!

Missouri Weather

This crazy Missouri weather is really something else! Last week, we had a day that was 70 degrees! We had a blast playing outside and getting the yard ready for spring.

Fast forward a few days to Saturday and somewhere near 6 inches of snow. Daddy and I took the Jeep to the park to go sledding and play on the slides. Yeeehaaaaawww!!! I really flew!

One upside, I suppose to the cold weather is staying inside and being able to hone my potty skills. This weekend, for the first time, I took myself to the bathroom to go poop without telling anyone until I was finished. Everyone was so proud of me! Mom was especially proud when I got up and she realized that I had gone number two in the shape of a 2. Yes, she did take a picture, but she has one itty bitty shred of decency and decided not to share it with the world. If anyone is interested in private showing, just let her know.
