Gobble Gobble

Ok, so I'm a little behind with a Turkey Day posting, but late is better than never, right?

On Thanksgiving Day, we went to cousins Mike & Pam's to eat a delicious lunch! Pam's rolls are the best! Mums gave me a taste of cranberries and I promptly spit it out and explained to her that it was the most disgusting thing ever to touch my poor little taste buds.
Just a little FYI for anyone out there who doesn't like to wait to eat...if you're cranky, you get to eat first!
After we ate, Pam let me play with some big legos. I had a good time with them!
Baylee and I hung out a little too. She had cool buttons on her dress that I wanted to chew on. After all the food and excitement, I had to go home and take a nap!We had a second Thanksgiving on Saturday at Great Aunt Joni's house. We also celebrated Great Aunt Joni's 50th birthday. I think that means she's really old - don't tell her I said that though, she might not take me to McDonalds anymore!
Grandpa Van and I played with a balloon - he made my hair stand straight up! This picture doesn't quite tell the whole story...I know that it looks like it could be Grandpa's purse, but it's not (well, that's the story we're sticking to). Great Grandma Lessie left her purse on the floor and I decided to go through her coupons to make sure she was getting the best deals possible.

Later that night, Mom and Dad went to a wedding and left me to party with Grandpa. We had a good time! Before they left, they wanted to take pictures, but I wasn't really in the mood.

Since I wasn't being cooperative, they ditched me. Mom has that stinkin' camera shoved in my face so much, I didn't care if I got left out of a few pictures!

Oh, The Weather Outside is Frightful!

I am ready to sled! Ok, so there wasn't enough snow to sled on, but it did snow today! I wasn't overly happy with the wind blowing the wet snow in my eyes though! Mom and I decided to play inside for a bit. She's been working on decorating our house for Christmas, so out came the singing puppy Grandma Lessie got me last year. I wasn't sure what to think of it then, but I REALLY like it this year. I figured out how to push the button and make him sing very quickly!

Where the Wild Things Are...

A recent visit to Toddler Town proved very exciting. I love riding the exercise bike!

I also like riding dinosaurs through the jungle of children!

Tunnels are cool too! You never know what's going to be on the other side!

After all that hard play, it's time to head to the locker room. I've decided I'm a big boy and don't take baths anymore...I'm a shower kind of guy.
Now, Momma promised she wouldn't show this, but obviously, she had her fingers crossed. Ok, so I had a pretty good rash on my bum and had to sit in a bowl of baking soda and warm water. It did feel really good on my heiney!

Watkins Woolen Mill State Historic Site

Today was such a gorgeous day - it was almost 70 degrees - we went with our friends, the Frazier family to Watkins Woolen Mill SHS for a picnic.

This was the view while we ate - can't beat that, can you? I wasn't very hungry because I think exploring is much more important than eating! I just had to make sure my exploring didn't cross paths with Daddy, Dorian and Wynnie throwing the football. They really don't know what they're doing!

We went into the museum and I played with the gears - anything that moves and makes noise, I like!
Wynnie and I took a walk around the mill.
I know nobody remembers when they were learning to walk, but let me tell you, it's scary! This is what my world looked like today when I was trying to maneuver downhill. Luckily, Wynnie caught me at the bottom and I was no worse for the wear.
This is one of the sheep they shear to make wool. Mom says she's working on knitting a hat for me right now, but I don't think I want to wear one of those things on my head.
After a long day of walking and playing, it's time to go home. Bear and I are pooped out!

October Wrap up

My second Halloween was a hit! We went to Trunk or Treat at church, which was sort of disappointing...People were giving me candy and Mom wouldn't let me eat any! Finally, there was a lady that gave me some teddy grahams...she knows about babies and trick or treating! I know what the dog says because Grandma and Grandpa's dog, Ally, taught me. I don't quite have the 'f' sound figured out yet, but I do say, 'Woo, Woo'.

My playgroup friend Makenzie and I went to Faulkner's Pumpkin Patch and had an awesome time! These horses were really fun to ride!
Daddy took me for a ride in his truck - my first! We went to get parts for a furnace and went to Lowe's - a real man's outing!
Uncle Dugger and his friend Cy came to visit all the way from Washington State! We had a good visit and got up early to see the sunrise. Well, early is normal for me, but we don't always go outside! One morning, it was so cold there was frost on the grass and the house! BRRRR!!
Mom's been complaining a lot about how ugly our kitchen floor is. I thought I'd

treat her by giving it a grape nuts faux finish.We went to visit our friend Carol at the Burlington Y. She worked with Mom B.H. (before Henry) and then took Mom's place when she decided to stay home and play with me. Carol is moving away to take care of her mommy and we're really going to miss her!

A Long Trip

Mom and I took a long trip to see my grandparents and great-grandparents that live in Carthage. It was a fun time, but I'm glad to be home!
My friend Colson and I took our moms to a very cool pumpkin patch in Carl Junction. Colson ran all over the place in his neat squeaky shoes. Those shoes make me laugh! I had an ear infection, so my balance was a little off...not much walking for me!

We went on a hayride through the fields of pumpkins, mums and even strawberries!
On Sunday, we celebrated Great Grandpa Henry's birthday with a big bash. Lots of my family came that I've never even met! I like Great Grandpa and Grandma's House - there's lots of stuff for me to get into and break! Then I get to say my favorite words - "UH OH!" These words sum up most of my activities these days!

Dad joined us later in the week and took me to see the Budweiser Clydesdales. They were in town for the Maple Leaf Parade adn they were BIG!!

Do it again, Dad!

After we went to the park, we ran into a little trouble... I tried to steal the hubcap off of a police car and then let the air out of the tire.

BUSTED!!! This officer (a.k.a. Grandpa Van) patted me down searching for mass weapons of stinky destruction. He also told me there was a warrant out for my arrest...something about prank 911 calls. (yes, for the record, I did dial 911. They told me since I couldn't tell them what my emergency was, they wouldn't help me. There was another prank call from a different location and they tried to pin that one on me too. I am getting a bad rap!)

After my altercation with the law, we went to George Washington Carver National Monument. I played in the interactive center, looking at all the animals and listening to their noises. Yep, that's me, walking without assistance to the display of animals.

I found out that my hand looks really cool when you put it underneath a microscope. Yeah, I was supposed to be checking out the bugs on display, but my hand was more fun.
Dad took me on a ride around the trail.
When you're up high, the wind really messes with your hair!

I also discovered playing on the trampoline! Bouncing is fun!

My first Maple Leaf Parade! It was a little long for my taste, especially since I didn't get a nap, but I did enjoy the big trucks, tractors. I was in awe when the bands came along and played.

We all had a good time! Thanks to all of our friends we got to play with and visit with!

Fall Fun!

I've got a lot of catching up to do! We're always busy and I don't always have much time to fill everyone in. In the past few weeks, I've gotten molars! As far as Mom knows there are 2, but she thinks I'm hiding one more. The first one came on Moms birthday. What a gift!
Mom and I also got to meet Miss Mia! We had a good time walking around the River Market with her. I was definately impressed with her intestinal power! She sure knows her way to my heart!
I've also been learning to climb...on everything! I've learned to climb into my jogger, where I try to fasten my seat belt...

I've also learned to use other objects to climb...I moved a box around so I could get up onto the chair and into the green house window. Because of all this climbing, Dad and Mom were a little concerned...they finally managed to get a gate at the bottom of the steps. I am a little bummed about this. I loved climbing the stairs at warp speed when no one was watching!Daddy lets me climb on his Bobcat and play too!
I've been doing a little baking as well. Fortunately, the cookie sheets are very easily accessible!

Sit 'N' Spin is now a family activity! Daddy and Nana love to spin...Momma...not so much.

Today, after we went to the park, Mom and I harvested lots of peppers from the garden. We also harvested our first 2 pumpkins! I didn't really like to pick the pumpkins...they're too prickly! I love to pick peppers and eat them!

Oh, and by the way, for those who have been asking, yes, I am working on the walking thing! I took 3 steps tonight and then 5 steps. After that, I was too tired. It really is exhausting to be a big kid. It's much easier to be carried!
