A Visit From Baby Joshua

We got to hang out with Baby Joshua while Stacie had surgery yesterday and we had a good time with him!  Lots of fun outside time!

A Lesson in Social Studies

Our street is a hot spot for speeders, thus we have a decent police presence on our corner to hand out citations.  This morning, Meekin was watching out the window and said to me, "That's not MY PoPo, that's just A popo".  Crackin' me up!

Happy Easter, Easter Bunny!

We went to visit the Easter Bunny at Bass Pro and loved it!  Mom has accepted the fact that she can't usually get a picture of both of us smiling at once, so here it is!  Meekin said he really likes the EB because he's soft!

Then, we had a great lunch of chicken and waffles at Mike and Pam's - YUM!  I've never met Paula Deen, but I think Auntie Pam is the best cook ever! 

Our Easter Project

A long ago tradition in our family was to make panoramic eggs, so when Nanny found her egg molds, Mom decided to jump in - head first!  After a botched first round, she figured out the learning curve and made about 40 of these jewels!  We took some to my class and others to friends and family.  The process isn't a short one, but we sure had fun doing it.  The eggs start out as halves and then the middle gets scraped out.

 Then the bottoms are decorated...

 Then the two halves are sealed together, the decorating on the outside begins.  This is when mom enlisted the help of her wonderful and very talented friend Michelle!  Joelle got to decorate her own and I think it was the prettiest of all!

 While the moms were preparing, we watched a Thomas the Train movie! 

Becker Family Easter 2011

We had our Becker Family Easter celebration on Palm Sunday and had a little less grass in the yard that day.  We have lots of wild life around our house, but there are certain critters that we don't see often - especially in the front yard!  We caught these turkey birds hanging out and eating some of Daddy's new grass seed.  He wasn't very pleased!

We had a great celebration anyway, complete with all kinds of yummy food!  With the help of Nanny, we made a fun lamb cake....of course, we forgot to take a picture before his tail got eaten off!

When it was time for the egg hunt, I was ready!  Chelsea and Riley hid the eggs for us and off I went!

Meekin wasn't so sure...we've been hiding eggs around the house, but they're always empty.  Once he found out there were treats in these eggs, he got on the ball!

Ellie did too!

Clyde had fun, but I think he really just liked being outside and free!

Lake Break!

We took a little time last week to hit the lake...well, not the water, but the land!  We are making some improvements to the campground, so Captain Destructo, a.k.a. Daddy, got to work with the chainsaw and Bobcat! 

 While he was working, we played with Gram, rode our 4 wheelers and hiked through the woods.

 Toby even got in on the action, wearing Meekin's hat when he didn't want to.

 We had gravel delivered to make a new driveway, but the Bobcat broke and we couldn't get it spread, so we played on it!  It provided hours of dusty entertainment for us!

 We took a break from our break and went to Silver Dollar City too.  We played in the new kids area, saw the Mayorov Circus and had lots of fun!



Conversations with our Kids

Note from Mom: As I was laying with Meekin this evening, he said, "I love you to the planets and back." I replied the same thing. Then he said, "I love you to the sun and back." I said, "I love you to Pluto and back." He said, "I love you to Mickey Mouse and back!"

A few days ago, Henry found our wedding album and brought it to Chris to look at. They talked about it and when Chris asked Henry where he was in all those pictures, he replied, 'I was in Mommy's tummy!'. WRONG! He really was not! Our wedding date was June 18, 2005 and he was born on September 5, 2006. While Henry was over due and at times I felt like it, I did not have the gestation period of a black rhino. Explaining life before children is at times difficult!
