Life Cycles

We've been studying life cycles at school and watched as tiny worms wove themselves into a cocoon and then became a butterfly.  We got to bring our butterfly home this week and this afternoon, we decided to set it free.
He had a sugar water soaked cotton ball to allow him to eat and I think it made him really sticky.  When we took the lid off, he had a hard time turning over.
 Now he's done it!
We dropped him in the grass...
And then gave him a little safety in a plant.  At last check, he'd been hanging there for about an hour.
What a fun experiment!
