To Cayo Santiago on La Paseadora

Captain Frank took us to Cayo Santiago, a.k.a. Monkey Island for an awesome day of swimming, snorkeling and monkey watching! He is a military veteran, a merchant marine and a very patriotic Puerto Rican who's passionate about nature. He was a wealth of information - and dancing lessons! Meekin started out the day not very happy, but he finally took a little snooze and then decided that all was well!
Captain Frank blew the conch shell to signal that we were underway and then he let me do it too!
While sharing information about and photos of the monkeys, Captain Frank commented on how much Momma and Meekin looked like them!
Monkeys, Monkeys, Everywhere!!!

Lots of starfish hanging out in the sea grass. We didn't see any, but there are sometimes manitee families hanging out in the grass.
We even got to check out a 4 pointed starfish!
The grown ups took turns modeling with the treasures we found (that were thrown back).

It was all fun and games until Gram wanted to eat a starfish! (note to PETA: she didn't actually eat it!)
Meekin and I took turns too, but once again, Momma had a hard time getting us both to smile at the same time!

When everyone was done snorkeling around a wreck, we got back on the boat, but Captain Frank had one more surprise for us...an ocotpus!!

After the octopus was put safely back in his little underwater home, it was time for lunch and our Puerto Rican rock band practice!

Daddy and Jason sure missed out - they went scuba diving instead. We had such a great day!
