An Adventure Fit For Tom & Huck
We traveled with Gram and Pappy to Hannibal for the Folk Life Festival last weekend. We went hiking at a park where we could see the Mississippi River. There were big tall trees on the hills and Gram told me stories about how Daddy and Aunt Ally would tie ropes to the trees and try to climb up the hill when they were little. I can't wait until I'm big enough to do that!
Here's the rest of our motley crew...Pappy, Great Uncle Jerry, Alan and Pam.
We got to the trail just in time to see the lift span bridge go up. I hope a train doesn't need to cross the river right now...
A tug was coming up river to help a barge. We talked to the lift span bridge engineer for quite some time and he was very informative. A very cool operation!
