Back Porch Eating

Nanny and Mom have always loved the Back Porch Restaurant, but the boys decided they loved it too, so we ate there twice during our week stay.  We were really entertained by the fact that they served the kids meals on frisbees and that there was a giant adirondack chair out front!  Just perfect for a family photo op.

Meekin loves lemons.  I mean, MEEKIN LOVES LEMONS!  He usually asks, but he's been known to stick his grubby little hands in your drink to get it out.  He chows down and doesn't flinch.  Not one bit. 

Me?  Well, I want to love lemons.  My taste buds are just a little more sensitive than his...  Doesn't stop me from trying!

O'Steen Beach

We visited O'Steen Public Beach, which was a new beach for Nanny and Mom.  It's quite a way down the beach from Sandpiper Cove, but there's a jetty there, a cool beach and pretty good snorkeling!  We spent lots of time jumping off the dunes and Mom couldn't quit taking pictures!

This is my dog house I dug into the sand.  I stuck my behind in it and barked!

As soon as I walked across the stage, we hit the road!  Nanny joined us for a trip to Destin, Florida!  It was 2 long days in the car, but we were pretty good and so excited to get there!  Dad was pooped out and probably a little tired of being with us in close quarters, so he didn't accompany us on our walk to the beach the first night. 

We really were just going to walk down, look at the water and check it out.  Nanny and Mom had been there lots before, but this was our first time at this beach, so we needed to assess the situation. 

Ok, so we were so excited we just couldn't wait to get in the water!!  What fun! 

Happy Pre-K Graduation, Henry!

May 18 marked my graduation - from pre-k, that is!  My cheering section was comprised of Mom, Dad, Meekin, Nanny, Pappy and Auntie Sara.  A good crowd if I do say so myself!

Whew!  Another whirlwind month!  We made a flying trip to Carthage for Uncle Bren's graduation.  Of course, we had to get there early for a good seat, which meant we got to sit in the sun, roast and cause commotion.  All pretty normal!

Notice all sitting by us (ahem...Gabbi and Grandma Terri) are all smiles and not paying attention to the mayhem that is being created.

The next morning we saw Megs and Great Henry and Great Niecey before we headed home. 

My Kid Has Bigger Adenoids Than Your Kid

This morning Meekin had surgery to take his tonsils and adenoids out.  He was all smiles before hand and obviously oblivious to what was about to happen.  We did tell him it would hurt some, but we mostly focused lot on the slushies, yogurt and shakes he would get to eat for the next week.

They gave him fancy jammies to wear during surgery and gave him a bear to hang out with his Meekin Dog. 

When the doctor came to talk to us after surgery, he said it went great and told us that his adenoids were HUGE!  They were blocking 95% of his nose, so no wonder he snores like a freight train!

When we went to see him in the recovery room, he had come out of anesthesia with his gloves on!  He was very combative and really mad!  'I HATE SURGERY!', he yelled several times.  After coaxing him into eating and drinking, he got some medicine and we got to come home.  He's pretty cranky and doesn't talk much, but is drinking well for now.  Hopefully it won't be too rough of a recovery this week!
