Happy Easter!

When we woke up this morning, we had to check and see if the Easter Bunny had visited our house overnight. Sure enough, the carrots we left were gone and there were baskets for all of us in their place! What a motley crue first thing in the morning!

After church, our friends, the Speck's came over for lunch. We had lots of yummy food and hunted eggs! What a good day!

Hats Were Made For Your Head

Dad's been working on the roof, replacing the shingles. I thought he could use a little help so I got ready.

Then I thought better of it and decided I should put on other clothes to go outside. And a different hat.
I think my cowboy hat is better suited for roofing - especially for my supervisor role.

An Attempt at Easter Pictures

Mom has been trying to get some good Easter pictures of us and it hasn't been going overly well for her. She somehow didn't get the memo that she has two wild little boys who really don't care about smiling and saying cheese. Fortunately, we're pretty cute, so even when we aren't cooperating, she can get some good shots!

Meekin's soooo big! He can't crawl up by himself quite yet, but if you stand him up, he can sure hang on!

I think Mom's in for a rude awakening one of these days... Meekin looks up to me a lot - he's always checking out what I'm doing!

Easter Egg Fun

Last Sunday, we celebrated Easter with Pappy's side of the family. Auntie Allison and cousin Adam were nice enough to hide eggs for Riley and I. I had been practicing hard all week at finding eggs (another one of our sick day activities) so I could give Riley a run for his money during the hunt. Off we go.....
Found one!

After the hunt, Meekin and I decided to go for a ride. Having a little brother has proved to be a pretty good deal for me. He pushes me around in my car and I don't have to do a thing!

What a good day we had with lots of fun and family!

On the Mend

We're all finally getting a little better, with the exception of snot. Mom's been wondering where it all comes from! Mom had to take me to the doctor last week and Meekin was sad that we were leaving, so Daddy wrapped him up in the mei tai, thus, a happy baby and daddy.

Mom tried to make our sick stay at home week as fun as possible. We did a little baking and some projects and even opened a coconut! I liked that a lot because it involved tools. First, we hammered a screwdriver into the coconuts eye (who know coconuts had eyes - sounds brutal to me!) and then when we drained the 'coconut juice' out I drank it. After I had my fill, we hammered it and it busted open! Food and tools - life doesn't get much better than that!!

Seriously...

Why on earth (ok, and also how on earth!?) do people have a lot of kids? No offense Grandma Johns, Sarah, Tiffany and the rest of you, but I think I was really only cut out to have 2. Maybe not even that. Today is one of those days when I question of I can really handle what God's given me. Ok, I can and do handle it, but sometimes I feel like it's not handled very gracefully. Today, I have 3 sick boys - 2 little ones and a big one. This is what this afternoon looked like. Meekin was in the carrier, but Henry wanted to be in the carrier when he woke up and looked like death warmed over. So we switched and Meekin was happy for a few minutes but was then screaming that he wanted to be held, so I had both. Then there was, 'Mommy, he's touching me!!' over and over and over. Geez, I thought we'd save those conversations for the car and maybe in a few years. I'm thrilled to go ahead and listen to it now. At least when it starts in the car, I'll have plenty of practice.

You're So Vain (Part 2)

Meekin really enjoys looking at his handsome self in the mirror and being with his 'twin'. When Aunt Jan and Meg were here last week, Aunt Jan taught him fish lips, so he was practicing.
High five, dude! You did a good fish impersonation!
