One Big Building Party!

For our birthday party this year we had our crew come ready to work!  We were loaded with Lincoln Logs, Tinker Toys, Legos, wood blocks, you name it, we had it!  Of course, all good workers love a swingset and a big yard to run in too!  We had an awesome time with about 60 of our friends and family and gathered 120 items for our church food pantry!  Thanks everyone!!

We Love

A true cowboy...One who can wear a hat, a t-shirt, jammy pants, his brothers tennis shoes and shoot with a stick.

We love to dress up and pretend!

We love to fish in our yard. 

We love our Mom. 

We like to help Mom.  We've been doing a little prep work in the kitchen for a long overdue remodel.  I am really good with a screwdriver! 

Before our birthday party, Meekin was trying on his personalized apron. 

After our party, we needed to sample our new blackberry jelly from our neighbor Kathy.  We love her jelly! 

We love to play outside. 

We love our oak tree.  I'm pretty sure Mom and Dad bought our house just so we could own this tree. 

We love to swing! 

We love to grow things. 

Last Big Lake Weekend

Dad and Meekin went to the lake a day early with Gram and Pappy, so Mom and I headed down after I got out of school on Friday.  Of course, with Dad not there to tell us no, we stopped at Osceola Cheese.  I love cheese samples!

That night, we met Michael for supper to celebrate his birthday.  He even borrowed my birthday crown from school!

Michael blew out the candle on his cake, but he forgot to eat it, so we took care of it for him.

We needed to grease the axle on the boat trailer, so Meekin and I did the heavy lifting.   

This is why we go to Pittsburg.   

We took a walk on Sunday morning when it was chilly outside.   

Then we went to a playground for a bit while we were waiting for it to warm up. 

Next stop, the marina to feed fish.  Stacie, Mike and Joshua came along too! 

What a great weekend!!

Happy Half Decade, Henry!

I had a big time birthday yesterday!  I am 5 years old now and think I'm pretty big stuff!  We were at the lake for the weekend, so we had a lake party first.

I picked a Whopper cake for there - YUM!

Meekin wanted to help me blow out the candles.  I was not happy, but tolerant.

The next morning, on my real birthday, I got to open presents from Mom and Dad.  The first one I picked was clothes, to which I replied, "CLOTHES??!!" and tossed them aside.

The second one I picked was books, to which my reply was, "BOOKS??  GRRRRRR!!!!" 

The next one was a wonderfully soft sheep blanket that I'd been lusting after at Costco.  Meekin and I buried ourselves in it and didn't cause any more trouble!  For the record, I did decide I liked my new shirts and books, I just really wanted the good stuff first! 

When we got home, it was time for another cake!  Lemon was my choice this time. 

I was prepared for Meekin this time and really wanted to blow the candles out myself. 

Is an arms length far enough for him to not be able to blow? 

Apparently not...He got one.  He was mad. 

And so was I! 

The cake was yummy and I had a good birthday anyway!
