A Fun Weekend!

We're wrapping up Meekin's baptism weekend with a few more pictures from his party. My Uncle Bren and cousins Tanner and Trey dressed me up like a cowboy when we were playing. They're such fun boys - I really wish they lived closer so we could play more often! Great Momma Lessie got to hang out with Meekin a little. He's an awfully cute, smiley kid!

Daddy and his friend Mike were part of a skit at church. Now I know most daddy's don't wear skirts, but my dad is strong enough in his manhood, he could handle it - just for a few hours!

They were dressed as centurions and heckled the pastor during the sermon.
At the end of the sermon, Daddy and Mike 'arrested' Pastor Jim and took him away - to the next service!

Meekin's Baptism

Today was the ceremony to baptize Meekin. We had lots of friends and family there to help us celebrate this special event. It was a nice time and we sure appreciate Pastor Jim taking time out of his Saturday to spend with our family.

The sprinkling...now Meekin was asleep before the sprinkling began, but he did wake up when his head got wet! He was very calm and didn't cry at all - unlike when Mom gave him a bath this morning!
The family...we clean up pretty nice when we need to!

Everyone came to our house for lunch after we left the church. Meekin went to sleep and stayed asleep for the entire party! Mom's wondering if Pastor Jim can baptize him every night right before bed time!

A Fun Fall

The weather has been great this fall, so we've had lots of fun! Here's a few pics of Meekin in his Halloween outfit.

Daddy poured concrete in the driveway last week so I have a new surface to ride toys on! See ya, Mom!

Our internet has been a little sketchy lately, so we're running a little behind! Last Saturday, at 11 weeks, 1 day, Meekin decided to start rolling over. He's rolled a few times, but it wasn't consistent, but now, it's really happening! He's growing so fast, I don't know where the last 3 months have gone!

Sharing

Sharing has recently become an issue for me. I'm working on it, only because Mom is making me, but I really like my things and am not into sharing - even with my brother. A friend who borrowed my old Bumbo seat returned it this week and when Mom thought she might give Meekin a sit in it, I decided against it. I gave Mom a pretty good laugh when I got my scrawny little bottom stuck in it.
When I was removed by the Jaws of Life, a.k.a. Mom, it was Meekin's turn. He was indifferent at first...

He later decided he liked his new seat, but only for a couple of minutes. He's kind of like me - he likes to be up high where he can see what's going on.

Trunk or Treat

Last night we went to Trunk or Treat at our church. This has been a tradition for Mom and Daddy since before I was even born. Last year, I had a good time, but this year it was even more fun, as Mom actually let me eat a little bit of candy! I got a big kick out of being a speckled frog! My friend Joelle and her mom joined us for the festivities, which made it that much more fun! It was Jo's birthday too, so it was a good way to celebrate!

First stop, Candyville! Yum, yum! Getting candy out of the trunks of cars seemed a little odd, but I really got into the swing of things after a couple of cars. The people who let me pick my own candy out of their buckets were probably sorry because I have pretty big hands for a 2 year old and can grab a lot at once!

Mom realized only after bedtime last night that there were no pictures of our pumpkin boy, Meekin. She's always the one behind the camera and since she was carrying him, no pictures. I'll make sure she takes pictures of him tomorrow!

Opposites

It is amazing to me that 2 children from the same parents can be so different! I was discussing this with the boys doctor yesterday during Meekin's 2 month well baby exam. She informed me that he is now a whopping 12 lbs, 12 oz - which puts him in the 70th percentile for weight. How did this little pork chop end up so much bigger than his big brother, who barely made the 10th percentile for weight in his first 18 months?
Meekin also appears to be an occasional fan of the thumb, while Henry (still!) prefers the sucky thing. We occasionally have conversations about when the sucky thing will disappear, but for now, it remains a constant part of nap and bedtime. During our doctor visit, we mulled over the pros and cons of thumbs vs. sucky things and didn't really come out with a clear answer. The opinion of the doctor is that you do what works.
