Men At Work

It's lawn mowing time, so the tractor has been out and Dad and I have been working hard! I beg to 'ride' the 'tracker' and 'catcat' (bobcat) frequently.

Yet another construction project has begun in our house - Mom and Dad demo'd their bathroom with the intention of remodeling it and their bedroom before my little brother arrives. We'll see how that works out for them. With no sheet rock, I can check the progress via the cold air return in the hallway wall. I like to play 'peaboo' through there too!
I am not sure why there is a potty and bathtub and sink in the middle of the bedroom, but they sure do provide me with lots to do while work is going on!

Sometimes I just like working side by side with Dad. I love tools!
Dust masks make great hats...
...until you get them stuck and panic mode sets in!
**Story from Mom**
A couple weeks ago, Nana, Henry and I were in the car and Henry had just fallen into a good head-bobbing sleep. A car drove by and honked and Henry (still asleep) raised his head and said, 'beep' and then dropped it down again. He always keeps us laughing!

Dad and I went with Mom this morning to take a look inside her belly at the baby. I'm still not real sure about this baby thing...I'm guessing it's going to take a lot of attention away from me.
While we were there, we saw pictures of the baby's head, hands, feet, legs and belly. We also saw that the baby is a BOY! I guess I better learn to share!

Hard Workin' Man (Part 2)

Daddy had to fix a broken water pipe at one of the houses today, so he had to rent a mini loader. I wanted to help so he showed me how to run it.
I was a little afraid at first, so I was easy on the equipment.

Once I got into it, I kicked it into gear!

My work here is done - and I'm pleased with myself!

Ok, so I just went to visit Daddy at the house, I didn't actually get to do any work - yet! Daddy did let me move the bucket around and dig little holes in the driveway. Daddy says when I don't wear diapers, I can go to work with him. Anyone seen that potty seat lately?!

I'm a hard workin' man!

Daddy's been working a lot on finishing up the latest rental property lately, so I decided to help him out with the landscaping. Since I love to play in the dirt, I really didn't mind.

After all my hard work, I needed a break so Mom pushed my friend, 'Ball' and I on the swing set for a bit.

When we got home, there was more yard work to be done...it was such a nice day, Daddy decided to jump on it. He got out the yard vac and started sucking up all the little things in the yard - leaves, pine cones, pine needles...AND ME!!!
The next day, it was back to the rental house to pour a little concrete. I was good for a little while, but then I decided to play in the concrete. I stuck my hands about 3" into that cold, wet goo and it made me mad! The concrete truck driver was nice enough to wash my hands off with warm water and then Mom changed my clothes, but I've decided I'm hiring out any concrete work I need done!

Playgroup Fun!

Last week, our playgroup went to the mall for some fun in the play area. I know there's some negative associations with ice cream truck drivers, but I am thinking I might have a new career here! Driving the ice cream truck was a blast! Mom liked it because I had so much fun without even putting quarters in!

Who wouldn't want to buy ice cream from this guy?

Speaking of quarters, a little girl was there with a very nice grandpa. He put quarters in the carousel and let us ride with her! I bet if one of my grandpas were there (and not my cheap mommy!), I would have had quarters to spend too! I started off in the car, with my friend Joelle right behind me on the motorcycle.
I got a turn on the motorcycle too and it was fun! I think I'll need a Harley to ride when I'm not driving my ice cream truck! There were many transportation options, but I still like running around like a wild animal the best! There's a neat bridge to climb on but it's a little slick and a little steep so Mom had to give me a hand.

mmmm....Calories!!

I've been working a lot lately on using eating utensils. I'm fine with my fingers, but Mom would like for me to become a bit more civilized, so here we are. It takes a lot of concentration, but I'm up for the challenge.

He shoots, he scores! A spoonful to the mouth is always a success!

Except when you dribble...sometimes even applesauce is easier with the fingers! I'm sure not going to scrape the food off my face with the spoon like Mom does. I do have a little bit of dignity!
Now, anyone who knows me, knows that I don't miss much when it comes to calories...unless it's a vegetable! My first experience with an Ugli fruit, was well, not so Ugly... As you know, when you're venturing into unknown food territory, you must first inspect the food. After careful consideration, the Ugli fruit passed inspection and I allowed Mom to cut it up. Now this was when I really started wondering if I wanted to eat it. Is it going to make me ugly if I eat it? I wasn't so sure. I decided to go for it and thought it was pretty good.
My next fun food experience was food on a stick. Mom isn't a big carnival fan, but I'm going to guess when Santa-Cali-Gon Days roll around this year, I'm going to tell her to put that new baby in a sling and get a move on! Corn dogs are cool! Why did someone not introduce me to food on a stick before?? Now you see it...
Now you don't! I must say, Bill & Ann's Mugs Up Drive In makes a great dog! This made up for Mom not sharing her root beer!
This is digging back a little, but I thought I'd share another new food obsession. When I was sick in January, one morning I was particularly cranky and Mom was moving a little slow with breakfast. She gave me some peanut butter on a spoon to occupy me for a minute. Well, not only did I smile for the first time in at least 24 hours, I ate 7 spoons of peanut butter for breakfast instead of what Mom was cooking. Oh well. Protein is protein!

Momma's Little Helper

I have become such a good helper lately! I helped mommy make a couple batches of cookies by stirring the eggs and then the batter. I think this was especially nice of me, since she didn't share the cookies after they were baked. She said they were chocolate and I don't really need any chocolate, but I beg to differ!

Daddy did a little construction project in the kitchen and I helped by using the shop vac to sweep up all the dirt - and a few of my own crumbs - off the floor. One day when I turned the shop vac on by myself, it scared me really bad and I was pretty upset. Somehow Mom found this situation to be amusing. I think not.

I also helped Mums sweep the living room floor. A little added pressure on the dust mop really helps to get ALL of the dust!
After all that work, a boy sure needs some play time! Daddy took me to the park on one of our few nice days this month. We had a good time!Yee haw! I love to swing!
