A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood

The weather is finally getting nice around here and we've been able to get out more! Mom and I were beginning to feel like we were on house arrest!

Dad and I have been pretty lazy in the mornings...we just hang out and snuggle!

Mom and I took a walk to the park today and I got to try out the swings for the first time! I had a blast! Note from Mom: you know it's good when you can see a big smile behind the sucky thing!

I've got the hang of this swinging thing - it's fun! That's my friend Ainsley and her mom in the background.

Ainsley's bigger than me so she gets to play on the slide! Just wait, I'll master the slide soon too!

Happy Valentines Day!

It's my first Valentines Day and I'm not sure what all this mushy love stuff is about, but I sure do like the gifts - it's like Christmas! Nana Jo got me this cool rocking chair and ottoman and I love to sit in it - it's just my size! I can even roll over in it and scoot my way down onto the floor!

Diapers? Check. Snacks? Check. If I only had a remote control, I'd never have to get up!

Dad and Mom have started another remodeling project on the house. They say it's never ending. They stripped the wallpaper in the stairway and loft and are doing some projects up there. It takes a lot of attention away from me, so I just lay around blowing raspberries, trying to get their attention. I've gotten good at doing them really loud and sometimes that's how I wake them up in the morning!

When I'm not blowing raspberries, I like to hang out in my walker. It has fun toys on it to play with and best of all, I'm beginning to really get around!

Sometimes when Dad puts me in my walker, I get confused...well, maybe it's him that's confused. I think I'm supposed to be going the other way!

I've been rolling around a lot lately. Mom keeps threatening to attach Swiffer pads to me so I can clean up while I'm playing. Usually, when she's working in the office, I play on the floor; I'm not sure there's a square inch I haven't rolled and scooted around on! Watch out world, I'm on my way!

The weather is still frightful!

Ok, so I'm really tired of the cold and snow. I particularly do not like making snow angels. Mom thought it would be cute to take a picture of me making a snow angel. I do not think a cold wet back and behind constitute cute.


Since I didn't think that being in the snow was fun, Mom (once again, thinking cute) dressed me up as a snowman. I still don't think this is cute. She should have stuck with dressing Cabbage Patch Dolls, I think. This is ridiculous and as soon as I can talk, I'm going to let her know that this is not ok. Where's Dad at when she's dressing me, anyway?


Now, Nana Jo may be an accomplice to dressing me in weird costumes, but at least she's got the right idea. This is my 2007 beach look. It's what's on all the runways for summer!

Moving on... This is the first time Dad decided to try and feed me.

I don't know what he was thinking with the content of the feeding - peas?!

Wait a minute, those weren't too bad! Actually, peas are #1!

So the peas weren't too bad but I'd still rather be eating my fingers and toes. I especially like to lick whatever I can find between my toes!

Occasionally, I really like to suck my thumb and my big toe at the same time...

This week is supposed to be extra cold - I hope everyone stays warm. Hopefully, you all are dressing yourselves and you don't have to wear dumb outfits like I do.

Baby, It's Cold Outside!

It has been so cold here! We got about 3-4 inches of snow on Saturday night. It looks very pretty, but I prefer to stay inside in my jammies and just look out the window. When I do go out, I get all bundled up!

When I stay inside, I like to exercise to stay fit. With abs like mine, it takes a lot of work. A few of the things I like to do...
Jump - sometimes I get tired of jumping and just hang out though!

And stretch really big - occasionally I get hungry and nibble a toe too. The great thing about toes - no calories!

We might go play in the snow later on today! I hope everyone is staying warm!

A Trip to the Land of Lincoln

The past weekend has been very exciting! I had a lot of firsts! Dad, Mom, Mums and Pappy and I went to my Great Great Uncle Jerry's Wedding in Springfield, Illinois. The weather wasn't very good, but we made it! Illinois is the third state I've visited and I stayed in a hotel for the first time. I even survived my first power outage - the hotel lost power for 3 hours Saturday morning!

After the power came back on Saturday morning, we headed off to spend some time with Abe, Mary and the boys.

Abe even loaned me his look and if I do say so myself, I look good in hats!

After we left the Lincolns, we went to Jerry and Carol's wedding - my first! I wasn't impressed; I slept through the whole thing! I was saving my energy for the reception! I danced the night away and loved the disco ball! Who has my name for Christmas? Is a disco ball in the budget?

After dancing my heart out, I decided to kick my shoes off and relax with Dad and Mom for a bit.

Love at First Bite?

I got to try something pretty fun this morning...rice cereal! It was even served up in Gorham fine china that Great Grandpa Henry and Great Grandma Bernice gave me. Aren't I fancy!?Mom kept trying to tell me to wait, but in the words of dad (make sure to add his whiney tone), 'I'm so hungry!' I wasn't sure of that first bite, but I decided I liked it!

There was a lot of banging going on in our house last weekend! Dad and Grandpa Van fixed the railing upstairs so I won't fall through. I'm not crawling yet - there's so many great people to carry me where I want to go, so why even try? I do scoot around the floor, like an inchworm according to Dad and Mom. I don't know what that is, but I'm sure if I met one, I'd like to put it in my mouth!

Happy New Year!

I have been so busy this new year! Mom and Dad took me to Carthage to celebrate Christmas with the Bennett side of the family. I really like the shiny lights. I'm sad they're all being taken down. I can't wait until next Christmas when the lights go up again!

We went to a New Years Eve Party with my friend Ainsley. It was a good time but I was so sleepy! I had to go home and didn't get to see the clock strike 12.

I forgot to tell everyone in my Christmas post the exciting thing that happened on Christmas Eve! Being the show off that I am, I decided that well, I am almost 4 months old, so I should be rolling over! Mom got a before and after shot of this!

I also had my first job last week - Dad told me it was time to start earning my keep. Mom's friend Tiffany, makes baby slings and Mom loves them! She doesn't buy shoes anymore because she'd rather buy slings! Tiffany needed a model for her website so I got the job!
